Martyn and I randomly decided to that we thought it would be fun to organise a blog meet for everyone. What with us being socially awkward and all we figured we would be perfect for this job!! Never ones to back down from a challenge (or at least not one we have publicly talked about) we decided to set up the Cambridge Blog Meet! Also known as #CBM16 because it’s easier, and everyone loves a hashtag.
#CBM16 is primarily a social blog meet up, a low key affair for bloggers old and new, young and old of any genre to come together and just enjoy the company of people who like doing the same thing as them – blogging.
The idea came about because I noticed so many bloggers didn’t feel like they were ‘good enough’, or enough of a ‘proper blogger’ to go to blog conferences like BritMums, or the newly rebranded BML and the added pressure of not knowing anyone meant so many of us decided not to go and sat at home sulking that we weren’t having fun and meeting people in real life that we have connected with online.
#CBM16 is the chance for us all to connect in real life without the pressures of being at a blogging conference.
There will be food, there will be drink, there will be socialising. A chance for everyone to get to know each other and build a bond with people who are in the same situation as you, to learn from others and talk about all the stuff your real life friends don’t give two hoots about.
