We have been doing quite a bit of baking over the past few weeks so that I could write up my Messy-Me apron review. We often bake anyway but having the review gave us an extra reason, obviously I needed to get plenty of photos to include in the blog, and I can’t say anybody was complaining about having cakes on hand either.
Oliver really liked the apron, I even let him choose the colour from the website; he chose Olive Grey which made me smile, he didn’t even know what the colour was called, so it was purely coincidence that he chose the colour most like his name and he really likes the star design too.
The apron is made from oilcloth so it’s wipe clean and waterproof which is perfect for little ones, especially if they’re like Oliver and want to wash their own hands at the sink. It protected his clothes from the mess really well (when I remembered to pull up his sleeves) and he gets excited about putting it on.
Oliver is quite small for his age at just about 3 years old and it is a bit long but I tied it up through the neck; it stayed on fine and was still comfortable for him. The oilcloth is really soft so there was no worry about it rubbing on his neck or restricting his movement. All in all the sizing is just what you need when buying for a little one as there is still plenty of growing room and I expect this apron to last a good couple of years, if not more – it is designed for 3-5 year olds so I guess it depends if he suddenly grows more than expected.
You can get these aprons for your little ones from the Messy-Me online shop; they come in Olive Grey, True Blue, Red Stars, Dusty Rose and Vintage Floral.
I’m really looking forward to doing even more baking and cooking with Oliver as the festive period progresses so I’m sure you’ll spot his apron in my upcoming recipe posts and I would definitely re recommend it as a gift for those budding chefs and bakers.
