I’ve been getting really stressed recently, I try not to but as December comes I find the number of birthdays to remember slightly overwhelming (3 of my closest friends, my OH, his sister, a niece and of course Oliver) and then there’s obviously Christmas. There are the cards to post, the gifts to buy and the cakes to bake and decorate as well as all of the extra bits and bobs.
Last year wasn’t so bad because Oliver couldn’t get in to everything, but this year even when we put something ‘out of reach’ he seems to manage to get it. He’s been whinging because he wants to eat the fruit soaking in alcohol for the Christmas cake too. Not to mention wanting to open all of the presents he can find! And on top of all that is the dreaded 2 year old sleep regression! He won’t nap properly and falls asleep really late at night so there’s not much chance to do anything without him trying to ‘help’.
I think next year I need to start preparing for Christmas in January!
Are you finding the run up to Christmas stressful? How do you deal with the stress? I’ve taken to writing lists and compiling spreadsheets but I think I need some more coping mechanisms!
